Pequot Lakes Stars & Stripes Days

Pequot Lakes kicks off the weekend with food vendors, family games, a bean bag tournament, kids’ activities, a loon calling contest, live music, and fireworks by North Star Fireworks.

If you are looking for that classic 4th in the north feeling, Pequot Lakes is a good place to start.

Confirmed food and drink vendors include Bubba’s BBQ Pit, Iwona’s Perogies, K&D Kettle Corn, Kading Enterprises, Mister Lemonade, Pronto Pups, Crawford’s One Stop Sweet Shop, MN Traders Co. (Red White + Brews park bar), and Snarky’s Hideout.

$20 per team. Two players per team. Youth bracket is ages 8–14, and the adult bracket is ages 15+. Rules will be posted at registration. This is a single-elimination tournament.

Nisswa Freedom Day brings a full day of family fun to downtown Nisswa with turtle races, live music, food vendors, a Main Street parade, and fireworks at dusk.

For anyone who loves the Brainerd Lakes Area, Nisswa is one of those places that feels like summer in motion. Shops are busy, patios are full, kids are racing turtles, and the whole town feels ready for the holiday.

Local tip: Nisswa gets busy early on Freedom Days. Plan extra time for parking, dinner, and finding a parade spot.

Celebrate FREEDOM in Nisswa on July 3, 2026 with a full schedule of fun! Activities throughout the day including Turtle Races, live music, food vendors and more.

The Freedom Days parade starts at 7 pm. Spectators line Main Street to watch the parade that includes various floats, marching veterans' groups, high school marching bands, area royalty, fire trucks, car clubs and more. The parade runs down Main Street in Nisswa and typically includes floats, veterans’ groups, marching bands, area royalty, fire trucks, car clubs, and more. Freedom Days activities are free, with the exception of Turtle Races, which are $5 per racer.

Local tip: Spend the morning at the parade, make an afternoon of Crosby Memorial Park or the Cuyuna trails, and stay for fireworks over Serpent Lake. 

Crosslake Celebrate America 250 Fireworks

Celebrate America's 250th on The Whitefish Chain! Crosslake is one of the area’s signature fireworks destinations, especially if you are staying on or near the Chain. The fireworks display will launch from Sand Island over Cross Lake in honor of America’s 250th birthday.

Gather your family, friends and neighbors in the 1st ever Crosslake Patriotic Boat Parade on Cross Lake! Pull out all the stops to decorate your boat and passengers.

• Travel past The Wharf and thru the Rush/Cross Channel onto Cross Lake

Look to the skies as four historic military aircraft—two North American T-6 Texans and two Beechcraft T-34 Mentors—fly over Crosslake in a patriotic formation honoring America's military heritage and the freedoms we celebrate on Independence Day.

The T-6 and T-34 were used to train generations of military pilots, preparing them to serve our nation in times of war and peace. Their flyover symbolizes the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of those who have defended our country throughout its history.

As we begin the celebration of America's 250th anniversary, this special aerial tribute serves as a powerful reminder of our nation's enduring spirit, honoring the past while inspiring future generations.

For those not in boats, we encourage you to veiw the parade from The Wharf, Moonlite Bay or the US Army Corps of Engineers Campground along the eastern shore of Cross Lake.
